PFORZHEIM 2008

Network Members, General Meeting
GLOBAL PASSENGER NETWORK (GPN)
March 18 & 19, 2008, Park Hotel | Pforzheim | GERMANY

                          Coach companies focus on quality

After Bologna, London, Madrid and Orlando during these days the international branch of coach tourism meets in Pforzheim for the convention of Global Passenger Network (GPN) which will be held there from Monday to Thursday.
GPN is an international network of coach companies from Europe, Asia and the USA. About 50 participants will be expected to join the meeting in the Golden Town.
Peter Wagner, member of the board of directors and managing director of Eberhardt-Reisen (Pforzheim / Engelsbrand) values the international meeting as "support for our business locations par excellence".
Germany and especially Baden-Wuerttemberg are corner pillars of the coach industry. But the so-called "Ländle" (Baden-Wuerttemberg) is also known as a touristic attraction, the more so as the Black Forest is a widely known brand name. And, so Peter Wagner: "at least we want to do something for Pforzheim itself and show our members all the offers and attractions of the Golden Town and its surroundings." For the most part, this event will not be noticed by the public, because the comfortable coaches will be left at home. "The international participants will arrive by plane", Beate Eberhardt explained in her interview with the PZ. Already today the first guests from Israel and Scandinavia will be expected, others will arrive on Sunday. Then there will also be a hearty Come-Together in Ketterers Braustüble. The meeting itself will take place in the Park Hotel Pforzheim and in the Tower of the Sparkasse. Until then Steven Klika, president of GPN, and Peter Wagner will have been arrived from a trip which has led them to the newly-formed German states for several days. "We must be the only network of coach companies all over the world, which has been founded in the form of a company", so Peter Wagner. In Pforzheim there will be also a focus on the accession of new members from Lithuania, Sweden, Turkey, Jamaica, Latvia, Norway and Iceland. "GPN has very strict criteria for accedence, quality and safety as well as economical standing are the essential criteria, which are considered", Wagner says. So the clients of GPN companies should have the guaranty for "unitary and comprehensible standards of quality and safety all over the world". Each application for GPN membership has to be supported by a company which is already member of GPN. Eberhardt-Reisen will support the application of Turkey.
